COMBAT WATER SURVIVAL TEST

• Evaluate Candidate’s ability to negotiate water obstacles.
• Familiarize Candidate’s with the skills necessary to survive waterborne operations.
• Increase Candidate’s confidence in their ability to achieve success in all environments.

EVENTS

• Complete a 15 meter swim with rifle and LCE complete.
• Negotiate a 3 meter drop.
• Equipment removal.

CAREY POOL

ACTION: Complete a 15 meter swim.

CONDITION: Given a swimming pool, a 15 meter swim course, unbuckled LBE complete, a rubber M16A1 tied with a dummy cord, and in fatigue uniform with top button on jacket buttoned, trousers unbloused, a pair of combat boots.

STANDARD: Complete 15 meter swim using any stroke; with rifle and wearing LBE , fatigue uniform and boots; without showing unusual signs of fear or panic.

ACTION: Negotiate a 3 meter drop.

CONDITION: Given a swimming pool, 3 meter diving surface, LBE complete, a rubber M16A1 tied with a dummy cord, and in fatigue uniform with top button on jacket buttoned, trousers unbloused, a pair of combat boots

STANDARD: Walk blindfolded off a 3 meter diving board with weapon and LBE. After entering the water, remove the blindfold and swim to poolside without losing rifle and LBE while not showing unusual signs of fear of panic.

ACTION: Conduct equipment Removal

STANDARD: Step into the water, completely submerge, remove and drop equipment, surface and swim to the edge without showing signs of fear and panic.
